THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM
I want to remind you that one of my obligations as your pastor is to teach the truth in many areas so we can fulfill the Great Commission and our church Mission Statement. Today I’ll tell you the truth about Islam, a religion totally opposite of Christianity. I’ll present some facts, and we have videos we can use later for more detailed education.
This message is not about foreign policy, it's not about economics, and it's not about domestic politics. Christians need to understand that the religion of Islam is not what we hear on the radio or TV. I will point out some lies of Islam using facts from several sources whose Christian ministry involves evangelism to Muslims and education to non-Muslims about the Islamic religion. Of course my primary resource is the Bible, which records in Genesis the reason for perpetual problems involving Muslims.
First, I need to clarify words I’m sure you have heard.
• “Islam” is the religion, and those who practice the religion of Islam are “Muslims” or “Moslems,” the original pronunciation.
• The word “Islam” means "submission," and "Muslim" means "one who submits" to the will of Allah.
• “Infidel” means anyone who is not a Muslim.
• “Qur’an” is the currently accepted spelling for the book known previously as “Koran.”
• “Jihad” comes from the Arabic word meaning "effort." Today, the effort is to conduct business and war and to restore the caliphate (a country controlled by Islam) and expand it ultimately to control the whole world.
This is a brief history of the religion.
• Six centuries after Christ and two thousand years after Moses, a 40-year-old Arab trader named Muhammad sat in a cave and claimed that he heard divine messages from the angel Gabriel as the final and full revelation from "Allah" to his prophet.
• Within 100 years, Islam, sword in hand, had brought a wide swath of the civilized world under the crescent. By 711 A.D., Muslim forces had conquered the Arabian peninsula, the Holy Land, Persia, Jerusalem, Egypt, northern Africa, and had invaded Spain. The resulting empire was larger than that of Rome or Alexander the Great.
• For many Americans, the events of 9/11 were their first introduction to Islam. Blissfully unaware of the brooding menace, they were shocked and horrified when coordinated attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and an attempt on the Pentagon took more than 3,000 lives.
• During the 1990s, jihadist strikes occurred around the world against U.S. targets without significant response.
- The first attack against the Twin Towers in New York came in 1993.
- In 1996 came attacks in Saudi Arabia against U.S. personnel with the Khobar Towers bombing.
- American embassies in Africa were attacked in 1998.
- In 2000, the USS Cole was attacked.
Lie Number 1: “Islam is a beautiful and peaceful religion.”
Since 9/11, the Islamic propaganda machine and the secular media have been trying to convince the American public that, in spite of what is on the news virtually every night, Islam really is a “beautiful and peaceful religion.” Ask yourself, where in the world is the beautiful and peaceful Muslim country
• that millions of people are trying to immigrate to?
• that other nations so strongly admire?
• that created a society characterized by freedom, justice, and human rights for all?
The truth is:
There is no such beautiful and peaceful Muslim country anywhere in the world. The religion of Islam has produced terrorism; human rights abuses; repression of dissenting voices; slavery; warfare; hatred of Jews, Christians, and other non-Islamic cultures. These are the actual fruit of this religion, not peace. No verses in the Qur’an teach Muslims to be peaceful with infidels. The closest statement about being peaceful is Qur’an 47:35. Allah commands Muslims: “So do not be weak and do not call for peace when you have the upper hand. And Allah is with you, and he will not leave from you [for] your work.”
Muslims are allowed to be peaceful only when the infidels have more might and many followers, not when Muslims have the upper hand.
Over 100 verses in the Qur’an direct Muslims to fight and kill Jews, Christians, and other Infidels. In Islam, there is no freedom of religion as Muslims are also instructed to kill other Muslims.
• If a man or woman leaves Islam, they must be put to death.
Qur’an 6:151 … And do not kill the soul which Allah forbids except with a just cause. …The just cause of the killing of a Muslim soul is one of the following three as Mohammed stated in a hadith. “The blood of a Muslim cannot be spilled except in the following three cases:
If a Muslim committed a murder (that is killing another Muslim)
If a Muslim committed adultery
If a Muslim apostates (leaves Islam)
• These are a few instructions regarding infidels, or non-Muslims.
Qur’an 33:26-27 26And he brought down the People of the Book who backed them from their strong places and cast the terror into their hearts. A group of them you are killing, and a group of them you are taking captive. 27And he made you to inherit their land and their homes and their money and a land which you had never set foot on. And Allah was mighty over all things.
Killing infidels is not murder. “People of the Book” means those who believe in God’s Word, Jews or Christians, and they (we) must be killed.
Qur’an 3:28 Believers do not take the infidels for friends, rather than the believers, and whoever does this so he has nothing to do with Allah, except that you should guard yourself from them, cautiously. And Allah himself warns you, and to Allah is the final return.
Muslims must not be friendly with infidels.
The Bible tells us in God’s own words why the world is being attacked by Muslim terrorists. God promised that His covenant with Abraham would be fulfilled through Isaac, his second son, whose mother was Sarah his wife. Isaac was the son of promise. God provided for Abraham’s firstborn Ishmael and his descendants, but they were not the covenant people. This history of Ishmael is found in Genesis 16:10-12; Genesis 17:1-8, 15-21; Genesis 21:9-13, 17-18; Genesis 25:5-11, 17-18.
Four times God said He would make a great nation of Ishmael’s descendants.
• Genesis 16:10--I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."
• Genesis 17:20--And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.
• Genesis 21:13--I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring."
• Genesis 25:18--Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation."
God also described Ishmael and his descendants.
• Genesis 16:12--He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.
• Genesis 25:18--His descendants lived in hostility toward all their brothers.
These chapters are important because Muhammad and the original Arab Muslims came from the area where Ishmael settled and were his descendants. You will not hear on the radio or TV anything about God’s covenant with Abraham or anything true about the Bible.
Lie Number 2: Allah and the triune God we worship are the same god.
Allah is not another name for Yahweh, Jehovah, the one true God of the Bible. Mohammed worshiped Allah, another name for Satan.
Qur’an 1: 1 (The praise be to Allah, the lord of the worlds.) =Satan
Qur’an3:54 And they deceived, and Allah deceived. And Allah is the best deceiver.
Qur’an 8:30And when those who became infidels deceive you to detain you or to kill you or to expel you. And they deceive, and Allah deceives. And Allah is the best deceiver.
Qur’an 35:8 says that Allah leads people astray.
He also desires to fill hell with people it says in Qur’an 38:85, 11:119, and 32:13.
The Bible clearly teaches in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that “the god of the world is Satan.” John 8:44 describes Satan as the “father of lies.” Now, regarding lying, Allah said in the Qur’an that it is lawful for a Muslim to deny his faith, to swear, then to lie about it if they are compelled.
Qur’an 16:106: (Whoever becomes an infidel in Allah after he believed, except one who was compelled and his heart is secure in faith, but whoever opens his chest to the infidelity, the wrath of Allah will be on them, and they will have great torment.)
Qur’an 2:225: “Allah will not hold you responsible for your mere utterance in an oath, but he will hold you responsible for that which your hearts gained (what your heart meant). And Allah is forgiving, forbearing.”
Muslims must give their allegiance to Allah, Mohammed, Islam, the Muslim country from which they come, the Muslim country(ies) with which they are neighbors, and the enemy Muslim country(ies) with which they are neighbors.
An important fact about Muslims is related to this point in the Qur’an. A child with a Muslim (birth) father is a Muslim, a practitioner of Islam. If he renounces his nationality and religion, he must be killed. But, he can lie and say he is not a Muslim and is a Christian if he is compelled to, as in taking an oath of allegiance to another country. Important!
Mohammed said in Mosnad Ahmed hadith number 26315 that it is lawful to lie in three cases:
• A man to his wife that she will be pleased with him
• At the time of war because war is deception
• To make peace between the people.
So in simple words, Mohammed taught his people, the Muslims, that is lawful to lie to their wives, their enemies, and their friends. I think that covers it all.
Lie Number 3: There are “moderate” and “radical” Muslims.
• There is no such a thing as a radical Muslim or a moderate Muslim.
• These are words invented by leaders of the West due to political correctness.
• There is no moderate Muslim because there is no moderate Islam.
• In Islam, you are either a Muslim or an infidel.
For a Muslim to be a Muslim, he must obey the teachings of Allah in the Qur’an and of Mohammed in the hadith.
Lie Number 4: Because Islam is a peaceful religion, they will “mind their own business” in your American community.
In the Qur’an, there are no references to loving your neighbor or doing good to those who hate you as we are taught in the Bible. If we continue to accept the lie that there are radical and moderate Muslims, we give the Muslim the right to build mosques, Islamic schools, and separated communities practicing Sharia. Then soon they will have the upper hand, and that is when America goes bye-bye because Muslims will take over the entire earth.
This is the truth about Sharia Law.
• The word “Sharia” means “law,” so you are saying “law law” when you say “Sharia law.”
• In the Qur’an and the hadith, you will see Sharia (Islamic law) because in the Qur’an and hadith, Allah/Mohammed said, “Do this and do not do that,” in other words, “this is the law.” If Muslims do not practice these commands, they will be punished according to the punishment which Allah described in the Qur’an and Mohammed described in the hadith.
The religion of Islam was founded by a man, and we cannot ignore the history of the life of Mohammed. His life was an example of conquest and the elimination of those who stood in his way. History, the Qur’an (Allah’s word), and the hadith, (Mohammed’s word) show
• that Mohammed is the only so-called prophet without even one prophecy.
• that he was an unrepentant sinful man, a child molester, sex offender, a prophet pretender, an adulterer, a womanizer, a thief, a killer, a liar, and many more vices by the permission of Allah his god, who is Satan, the god of this world, the best deceiver, the one who leads people astray, and his desire is to fill people with Hell.
Not every Muslim is a terrorist.
• The vast majority of Muslims are simply cultural Muslims whose basic interests are the same as those of most people--making a living, raising a family, and trying to live a productive life.
• Unfortunately, the religion of Islam has enslaved people into a false religious system that cannot save them and does nothing to truly empower them.
• In fact, as was true in the time of Mohammed, the only people who truly benefit from the religion of Islam today are the ruling autocratic authorities. Everyone else must simply submit.
While many peaceful people live within the Muslim world, Islam itself is a veil of deception. Remember words from the Qur’an–Allah is the deceiver.
• Satan, the deceiver, has used this religion to blind eyes of millions of people to lead them away from truth and the fullness of life that God wants for them (John 10:10).
• As a result of this spiritual deception, Islam poses a genuine challenge and a real danger.
Christians need to be aware of the claims of Islam. It is vital to understand the relationship between the Christian faith and that of Islam.
• Muhammed took the account in Genesis of Abraham and his two sons and exchanged positions of the sons, making Ishmael the one through whom God’s promise would be fulllfilled instead of Isaac. This is why Muslims think they own the land of Israel and plan to destroy the Jews.
• According to Islam, people we read about in our Bible--Abraham, David, and Jesus and His apostles--were all Muslims.
• Muslims believe that everyone is born Muslim and believe in the one true god, Allah, but that early on they are led astray by false religious traditions.
• Jesus, in the Islamic mind, was a faithful Muslim who prayed the prayers of the Qur'an.
• Islamic orthodoxy teaches that Muhammad was the only prophet sent by God to the entire world, and it is Islam alone that intended to become a universal religion.
Highlighting these realities is certainly not politically correct, and doing so is definitely not going to fit our culture’s prevailing belief of uncritical tolerance. However, we cannot ignore consequences of the foundational history and teachings of Islam for fear of being offensive. We must know the truth. The only response is for Americans to get rid of Political Correctness and never use “radical Islam” again. We are at war with Islamist terrorists, and we must be equipped with the truth about our enemy.
The Bible declares in Hosea 4:6, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Christians need to know how to avoid the traps of Satan. This helps us to teach others the truth also.
THE INVITATION
★ You can't depend on your own goodness to get to Heaven. We've all sinned (Romans 3:23). Jesus paid the penalty for your sins with His death on the cross and His resurrection (John 3:16).
★ To be forgiven and be guaranteed a place in Heaven, you need to repent of sin, confess that you are a sinner, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in your heart (Acts 2:21).
★ You can use the following prayer or your own words, but you must actually believe in your heart that your prayer is real:
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I confess that I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. Please forgive all my wrongdoing and let me live in relationship with You from now on.
I receive You as my Savior and recognize that the work You accomplished once and for all on the cross was done on my behalf.
Thank You for saving me. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You.
